  • Dr. Thanh Huynh

    Dr. Huynh is a radiation oncologist holding faculty appointments with the University of Hawaii's School of Medicine as well as its Cancer Center. Thanh has been studying and practicing mindfulness meditation (vipassana) since 1984. His practice includes multiple month-long silent retreats under the guidance of Asian masters as well as other training with western teachers, including the Community Dharma Leaders program at Spirit Rock.

    Dr. Huynh has been conducting and coordinating regular meditation sessions for prison inmates since 1993 and has offered free introductory mindfulness meditation classes to the public, including children, with rewarding results. He and his wife Xuan lead the weekly sittings and monthly day-long and weekend retreats in Honolulu.

  • Venerable Ajahn Att

    Ajanh Att is a Thai and Lao Buddhist monk. He ordained as a monk 14 years ago in Thailand and spent about 8 years in Wat Buddharatanaram Temple in Keller, Texas prior to coming to Honolulu, HI. He’s been in Hawaii for 3 years supporting the Lao mand Thai Community.

    Ajahn Att is fluent in both Lao and Thai languages but is currently learning English. He has chosen the Bodhi Tree Dharma Center as one of his spiritual learning center to improve his meditative knowledge and practices in a variety of traditions.
